Out of Commission

Hello all,

I will be having surgery this coming Wednesday (Jan 7th). I will be out of commission for a little while.

I will not be posting any new photo entries till at least Jan 19th and I will be taking the month of January off in order to recover.

I will still be checking emails and scheduling sessions, so please feel free to contact me.

Take care.

January 2009

This month’s calendar features a picture that was taken at the Cincinnati Art Museum.

I love being able to get close to the paintings and see the brush strokes.  I love how you can see the textures.

Blaze

In all the pictures I have taken up to the time of this shoot, I had not taken portraits with a family pet.  Blaze was my first family pet to join the fun.  I love dogs.  I hope to own one here soon (spring time I hope).  I’m not sure who was amused more Blaze or myself.  It was a lot of fun trying to get Blaze to play along and sit still and not lick the kids or my camera lens.

Blaze, I realize you can’t read but you are an adorable subject.

A Mother’s Love Part 2

Remember yesterday when I talked about how I love watching parents with their children?  Well here is the second part of that entry.

This is Linda, although she was not in youth group with Vickie or I, she is older than us, she was still around and apart of my life back then.  I remember her eldest child being born.  And now her girls are in youth group and are building not only their relationship with God but are forming the friendships that will still be there many years from now.  And yes it does make me feel old to be helping with the youth group that they are apart of.

A Mother’s Love Part 1

I love watching parents with their children.  You can see their love for each other in their actions.  You can also see glimpses of what they were like when they were younger.  It is even more fun when you happen to have known one of the parents when you were younger.  I have known both moms since I was in high school.  So it’s fun to be apart of their life now that we are all older.

This is Vickie, she is the younger of the sisters and we were in youth group together.  One day her kids will be in youth group and I hope they build the type of friendships youth group allowed me.

The Whole Crew

I was asked to take photographs for a family I have know for quite some time.  I was actually in youth group (back in the day) with Vickie and I remember when Kayla was born (rumor has it I played a handbell duet as a gift.)  So it was an honor to take photos for them.

I must admit it was a riot.  Between the kids and Blaze, the dog, I laughed so much it made my stomach hurt.  Here is the entire crew, including Blaze posing for the camera.

To Many More

May you continue to grow in love and humor as a family.  May the coming months bring you more grace and happiness.  May you walk through each day knowing you are not alone and you have each other.  May your family remind all those around you that miracles still happen.

To Many More

Merry Christmas

Sometimes we are given gifts that have immediate gratification.  Sometimes we are given gifts that are more precious than our words can even describe.

These boys are miracles.  Just look at the difference in a year.

Helpmate

For some reason when I said “Christmas Eve” today I thought of the verse that talks about it not being good for man to be alone and for the need for a helpmate.  Kyle and Kathy are helpmates to each other.  I can’t imagine raising twin boys.  I can’t imagine all that goes into it.  Yet it’s a joy to them.

May you always be there for each other to help the other along the road of life.

The Bigger Boys

I love watching Kyle and Adam interact.  They are playful and more often than not they are messing with each other, but the bottom line is both of the guys will do anything for their family.

I also love being apart of their family story.  I believe this is 3rd time I have had the honor of taking family photos for them.  Each time it is a blast and I laugh more than the last time.
